How Gurukulam began.

Gurukulam Global School was established in 2017 near Ayodhya Nagar, Jalgaon, by the Institute For Rural Development & Social Services, a trust working in education and social development since 1987.

Inspired by Mrs. Tejashree Patil's passion and commitment to quality education, Gurukulam began its journey with Playgroup to Std. I and has grown systematically, adding one class each academic year. Today the school runs from Playgroup to Class 8, with Classes 9 and 10 opening from 2027-28.

The idea has not changed since the first morning: a school small enough to know every child, and serious enough to prepare each one for the years ahead.

Gurukulam Global School was established with the belief that every child deserves access to meaningful, quality education in a nurturing environment.

With this vision, the trustees and founders set out to create an institution where education goes beyond academics: an environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore, grow and develop into capable individuals prepared for the future.

We follow the NCERT curriculum and textbooks. Marathi is taught in every class as Maharashtra requires. Hindi is taught alongside. Class 8 is the highest class running in 2026-27; Classes 9 and 10 open from 2027-28.

We are trust-run. The Institute For Rural Development & Social Services has run schools and training centres in Jalgaon district since 1987. Tejashree Patil, Founder and Director, has led the school from its first pre-primary class.

Institute For Rural Development & Social Services registered as a society (MAH-861/Jalgaon, 30 Jul 1987) and a public trust (F/833/Jalgaon, 6 Oct 1987).
2017
Gurukulam Global School opens
The school opens on the Ayodhya Nagar campus with pre-primary classes, founded and led by Tejashree Patil.
2023
State approval
Government of Maharashtra approval to run a self-financed English-medium school from 2023-24.
2026
RTE recognition and fire approval
Recognition under the RTE Act for Std 1 to 8 (valid to 31 Mar 2028) and MIDC final fire safety approval (13 Jul 2026). CBSE affiliation applied for. Class 8 is the highest class running.
2027
Classes 9 and 10
Secondary classes open from 2027-28 on the same campus.
